Ingredients

  • 4 cups sliced strawberries
  • 3 cups blueberries
  • 2 cups sliced kiwi
  • 2 cups diced pineapple
  • 1 cup grapes halved
  • 1 cup sliced mango
  • 1 cup sliced banana
  • 1/2 cup pomegranate seeds
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 cup vanilla yogurt
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest

Method

  1. Wash and pat all fruit completely dry with paper towels—this keeps everything from getting soggy. Start with your strawberries and slice them lengthwise into quarters, then arrange them in a section on your serving board or platter. Don't worry if they're not perfect; rustic looking actually looks more elegant to me.
  2. Pour your blueberries into another section next to the strawberries, creating distinct color blocks. I like to use about one-third of my platter for the blue section since it creates that patriotic vibe instantly. You can pile them loosely or arrange them in rows—whatever feels right to you.
  3. Slice your kiwi into thin rounds and peel back the skin slightly if you want them to look extra fancy. Stack them slightly overlapping or fan them out in your white section of the patriotic fruit platter. This middle section is where you'll showcase your pineapple and banana slices too.
  4. Add your diced pineapple chunks to the white section, filling in any gaps between the kiwi. Slice your banana just before assembly and toss it lightly with a splash of lemon juice to prevent browning. I learned this the hard way after bananas turned brown on me at my sister's party—now I do it right before guests arrive.
  5. Halve your grapes and scatter them throughout for pops of color and texture. Add your mango slices in thin strips, mixing them with the other white fruits to create visual interest. The honey-drizzle step comes next, so hold off on moving things around too much.
  6. Drizzle the honey over the entire arrangement in a light zigzag pattern, making sure some lands on each fruit section. Sprinkle the pomegranate seeds over top for extra texture and that pop of jewel-like color. Don't skip this—it makes the whole thing look restaurant-quality and tastes amazing too.
  7. Top everything with fresh mint leaves scattered throughout and finish with the lemon zest sprinkled over the entire patriotic fruit platter. Serve immediately with the vanilla yogurt and honey mixture on the side for dipping, or drizzle it directly over individual servings if you prefer.
